Journal entry

January, 2016

The vast emptiness of a desert was a beautiful sight. It was my first time living in such blistering and painful heat, but the thrill of this new adventure overcame any complications. I never wanted to leave. My friend Najeeb, a local of the desert, advised me that, like the desert, everything that I find beautiful can only be present for so long. It was their nature to be only temporary. Because the longer I push my welcome, the easier it will be for it to kill me.
